Our first training course for professionals

2 min read

The first course for professionals and experts from the service and healthcare sectors took place on the 5th May 2026.

The course was conducted by Mgr. Barbara Janíková, Dis., who presented not only a lot of facts, but also practical knowledge and innovations in the treatment of HIV, AIDS, HCV, HBV and Syphilis. There was no shortage of general information, statistics and indication or treatment procedures. But for each disease, information was provided about the routes of transmission, testing options and treatment options. Barbara also introduced new testing methods in the form of saliva tests, which are an easier way of testing, for example for people with a phobia of needles. Although most centers test anonymously, this option also offers completely anonymous testing even in the home environment. When introducing these tests, however, she also pointed out their shortcomings, or rather, possible pitfalls in the form of interpreting the results or not knowing the correct timing of testing. Although this option exists, it is necessary to inform about the importance of professional care before and after testing, which can lead to a much less stressful experience. Innovations in the treatment of HIV, AIDS HCV, HBV and Syphilis have led to many practical discussions as well as statistics regarding data targeting Ukrainian refugees. That is why our Voices for change project was specifically introduced, including the many trainings and courses it offers.
